Orville Jackson Post 127, American Legion

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic Veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is one of the nation’s larges wartime Veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and Veterans.

The American legion is a grassroot organization whose programs and activities strengthen the nation one community at a time. We are a nonpartisan, no-for-profit organization. Our success depends entirely on active membership, participation, and volunteerism. 100% of donations and revenue received are turned around and given back to our Veterans in need and to our community programs.

The Legion stand behind the issues most important to the nation’s Veterans’ community, baked by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership. Our Post is honored to have brought forth a resolution to assist in the effort to designate the Idaho state portion of US Hwy 20 the “Idaho Medal of Honor Highway”, being a part of the recognition of National Vietnam Veterans Day as an annual holiday in Idaho and on the task committee. We are currently working on legislation to add Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) logos to Idaho’s existing military license plate program where the fees generated provide funding for ongoing maintenance of our State’s Veteran’s Cemeteries, setting up an active duty flag program in downtown Eagle to honor our active duty servicemen and promoting patriotism and participating in the expansion of The Senior and Community Center in Eagle.
